Between You and Me interrogates the intersectional relationship between moral panics, desire, and identity through dialogue with the daughter of a pastor who is currently incarcerated for child sexual abuse. In 2002, Michael Skoor was convicted of 20+ counts of child sexual abuse and sentenced to 29 years in a California state prison. Reeling from the aftermath of unthinkable trauma, his daughter Rebekah continues to ask questions. How do you love someone who has done terrible things?
Between You and Me premiered at Hot Docs 2016 and is produced in association with CBC Docs.
